Success Stories

Sally is a 15-year-old Love, aka white Labrador. She has a heart of gold that will melt your heart in moments flat. Sally came to her owner as a rescue at age 4. She received Bowen therapy over the years for minor injuries, an ACL tear,  maintenance, and, in recent years, for aging, large-breed arthritic hips. About a year and a half ago, Sally started having the all too common recurrent ear infections with redness, inflammation, yeasty smell, constant itching, and rubbing her ears on furniture to relieve the chronic itching.

Sally was put on an energy blend protocol to support the immune system and, in turn, address the chronic ear infections from the inside out. With any kind of chronic infection, the importance of allowing the immune system to do its job and not suppress the infection with antibiotics is imperative. Sally was also put on a blend for liver, kidney, and lymph to support the cleansing of the yeast out of the body.

Included in her remedies is a blend for her hindquarters, connective tissue and joint support as well.  No protocol from Happy Tails is complete without a customized Flower Essence Blend to balance the emotional and mental level of each and every unique dog or pet.

Sally’s ears cleared up nicely from the inflammation, yeast, and chronic discomfort from itching. Sally has been kept on maintenance protocol to keep her immune system strong, sustain her golden years, and strengthen her hindquarters and joints. She has done very well by diligently being maintained on a support protocol.

She has had a few very minor ear flare-ups that were brought under control within a week or two by adjusting her protocol.

She continues to be in very good health, especially for her age. Her health is contributed to by the fact her mom feeds her real food (no commercial kibble) and continues to provide a truly holistic lifestyle.  And even has a new best 1-year-old friend, Rosie ~ who will be featured in a future newsletter.

Debbie is my go-to person for all my furbabies, past and present.  She’s been caring for every one of them for ten-plus years. She has an incredible and, amazing talent that I have never seen before. My 15-year-old lab had a persistent yeast infection, and I ended up taking her to the vet several times, but it kept coming back. I contacted Debbie, and she treated not only the symptoms but the cause, and the yeast infection went away for good. She can treat their illness but also cares for their well-being. She keeps them healthy and happier and keeps them living longer!

Polly is certainly at the top of our poster pet children list. Polly came to her person through a unique set of circumstances. She was a rescue but not of the usual kind from the formal shelter adoption process.

Her current owner was to be the luckiest recipient of being graced by such an amazing soul. And Polly is …

Polly, per se, found her new owner right there in her neighborhood. She was not being cared for properly and essentially left to her own devices when she landed on her new person’s doorstep, quite literally. As fate would have it, Polly obtained ownership of her new person and visa versa. This is the nutshell version, but let’s say they rescued each other. Polly’s newfound guardian was grieving the loss of no less than one month prior, her best buddy. Also, being a white Lab.

Polly received extremely good care, from the best raw food diet to supportive supplements, quality fish oil, and more. But most of all, the Love that she desperately longed for and thrived upon.

In spite of her all-encompassing care, she developed a series of conditions that were a bit mysterious. Initially, it appeared to be a cruciate (ACL knee) problem, which is not the least uncommon in large-breed dogs. Though it was more predominant on one side than the other, it seemed to move from one side to the other. And then, over time, the unknown and mysterious condition presented as a total hindquarter weakness. Not just the ligaments in the knees.

Polly’s signs and symptoms were the following: difficulty standing or going on walks for even small amounts of time having to lay down on the sidewalk in the middle of a walk. She couldn’t climb stairs, preventing going upstairs to the bedrooms. And one of her favorite things was that she was unable to get on the ottoman and lay at her owner’s feet.

Due to lack of activity, she also began to gain weight and went from a near-perfect hourglass figure to overweight. She also seemed to be in a degree of chronic pain. Many things were tried; a leg brace, injection-based prolo therapy, specific nutrients, etc – to no avail.

We started Polly on a protocol with the Energy Blends specific to her situation but also to address the core foundation: her immune system.

It was not overnight, but within months, Polly started showing signs of improvement, mainly increased strength in the overall hindquarter area. And then came the day when she was able of her own volition to return to the ottoman.

This was a game-changer in her world and ours. Then came the ability to once again climb the stairs and be able to join her family upstairs. She was slow at first, then gained an almost normal momentum.

Polly now plays with her cohort without a doubt or concern. She is back 95%. She still needs to rest at times but is unrecognizable from her former state.

Polly continues to be maintained on her protocol as support, but also keeping the immune system up to par is very significant in maintaining her health and well-being in all regards.

My journey with Debbie began over 15 years ago.  My very first session with her was to work on some issues I was having. I was dumbfounded by the results I experienced after that first session…it truly was transforming. Over time, as I learned about all of “the gifts” that Debbie had to offer, I was hooked! Debbie is my first go-to when the dogs or I need anything related to our health or well-being.  She has been a huge part of my life personally and with our dogs over the years. She has a special, intuitive knowledge that still amazes me. The work that she has done to help our sweet Polly has given her back her quality of life. Polly is happy and thriving! We are beyond blessed to have Debbie in our lives!

Eddy’s parents called looking for help with a limping left hind leg. It turned out it was the all-too-common ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), which attaches to the knee. ACL ligament tears are common among labs, typically because of their high activity level.

Eddy is 10 years old and has a strong constitution. In her younger years, she was no stranger to a 10-mile hike with her Dad.

In February of this year, 2023, we started Eddy on a custom protocol to strengthen the connective tissue of the knee, including the ACL ligament. Of course, we worked on strengthening the immune system as well because this, in turn, makes all healing processes more efficient.

When we started, Eddy walked very lightly on the left hind leg and sometimes skipped steps walking on three legs. By July, she was walking on all four legs, and a few months after that, bearing even weight on both hind legs. When I checked in with her Dad a few months after that, I asked what percentage of improvement we were at with the leg. His response was …..

“Every day, we are 100%. She gets a little hitchy if we go hiking for a mile or two. I don’t know if she’ll ever be a 12-mile-a-day dog again. But she is doing a whole lot better than she was.”

At 10 years old, going on eleven, I’d personally be impressed with one mile!

Now, in her golden years, Eddy still enjoys heading out for a play day somewhere amongst the vast playground of the Sierra Nevadas, though much shorter in duration.

Below is Eddy with her buddy enjoying an outing at the river. Look closely at her left hind leg movement. She has an even and comfortable stride.
